Cassie & Jason | Maternity

I've read many reflections about the one-year anniversary of the pandemic. I will not forget where I was one year ago, because I was flying out to Denver to photograph Cassie and Jason, dear friends who were one month away from welcoming their beautiful son Henrik into the world. I was nervous about traveling (keep your distance! give me hand sanitizer! stop touching your face!), and then recommendations and restrictions everywhere started changing during my brief visit. I don't know when I'll be on an airplane again, but I'm so glad to have captured these memories for this beautiful pair.

Having never before visited Denver, I was excited to traipse around town with these two. We lucked out and found some amazing spots to shoot (side note: has Lisa Frank started painting murals, because someone is definitely channeling her neon spirit out there). I still can't believe that I was on a plane headed back to Michigan only a few hours after taking these pictures, but a piece of my heart is definitely still out there.

I'm not going to apologize even a tiny bit for the photo storm that's headed your way. I love these beautiful people, and I'm so very grateful that they wanted me to photograph their engagement. We dragged ourselves to Rocky Mountain National Park bright and early, but I think it's safe to say the sleep deficit was worth it.

Stay tuned for more beautiful images of these two lovebirds headed to the blog later this week!
