Cassie & Jason | Maternity

I've read many reflections about the one-year anniversary of the pandemic. I will not forget where I was one year ago, because I was flying out to Denver to photograph Cassie and Jason, dear friends who were one month away from welcoming their beautiful son Henrik into the world. I was nervous about traveling (keep your distance! give me hand sanitizer! stop touching your face!), and then recommendations and restrictions everywhere started changing during my brief visit. I don't know when I'll be on an airplane again, but I'm so glad to have captured these memories for this beautiful pair.

Happy Friday, my friends! This beautiful family is about to grow by one, and I love that we captured a few memories of Cam as he prepared to celebrate turning two. I don't always succeed at winning over kids, but apparently Cam was a big fan of my barnyard impersonations. (I will moo with no shame if it gets a kid to crack a smile.) 

Emma | Two

I've said it before and I will say it again: photographing kids as they grow up and change is the best. This little sweetie just turned two, and she's getting promoted to big sister in a few short months! It truly feels like I was just photographing her for first birthday, but sigh, how quickly a year flies by. Happy birthday Emma!

Chris + Kate | Maternity

Man, oh man, I don't even know where to begin describing how much I loved this whole session. I always enjoy a good maternity shoot, but after spending about two minutes with these two, I felt like I had known them forever (and anyone who will chuckle at my cheesy jokes is an automatic winner in my book). They even laughed when I (inappropriately?) quoted lyrics from The Notorious B.I.G., so pretty sure they're my favorites. Can't wait to meet their little baby girl this summer!

The Herrema Family

You know when the stars align and everything just falls magically in place? That was this session. We shot on a beautiful Saturday morning--the sun was shining, everybody was happy, it was seriously perfect. (And then a few hours later tornadoes were crisscrossing West Michigan, so you can see why I'm delighted that our morning went off without a hitch.) I adore this family, and I'm so excited to meet baby number two in a few short months.
