Is it too late to blog this beautiful Mississippi wedding from two years ago? I hope not, because I loved reliving all these fantastic memories from Cate and Jay’s wedding day (and you probably will too). It was such a joy to capture the love shared between this beautiful pair and their fiercely supportive communities. I could dance with these gems all night long.
I've read many reflections about the one-year anniversary of the pandemic. I will not forget where I was one year ago, because I was flying out to Denver to photograph Cassie and Jason, dear friends who were one month away from welcoming their beautiful son Henrik into the world. I was nervous about traveling (keep your distance! give me hand sanitizer! stop touching your face!), and then recommendations and restrictions everywhere started changing during my brief visit. I don't know when I'll be on an airplane again, but I'm so glad to have captured these memories for this beautiful pair.
I was a little nervous to photograph newborn twins, but these little babes didn’t give me any trouble. Kim and Mike are true gems, and this was one of my favorite sessions of the year. On a more serious note, Kim is facing her second battle with cancer and has had to step away from her work as a speech therapist to focus on treatments. If you feel so moved, please consider donating to help support their family during this difficult time.
New year, new resolutions. I have gotten away from regularly sharing client work, and I would like to get back in the habit of publishing a few favorites from special sessions. I’m beginning with an extremely fun-filled studio session from last winter that is absolutely worth reliving. It’s never too late, right?
Three weeks ago we took these amazingly cheerful photos around Muskegon…and now West Michigan is covered by several inches of snow. (Come on, spring; get your act together.) If you have the opportunity to spend any time with members of the Nieuwenhuis family, consider yourself very lucky, because I can guarantee that you’re in for a great time.
